I submit here that: a Christian position to alcoholic beverage MUST be TOTAL ABSTINENCE

Our airwaves & streets are laced with expensive plus sophisticated adverts/bill boards about the beauty and uniqueness of alcoholic drinks but the advert is not for you dear Christian.

This write up may sound old fashioned but the standards of God are not about generations. If unbelievers are alarmed at the harm which alcohol brings, should Christians somehow try to justify it?

Alcohol promises much especially when you flow with the glamour surrounding it but it gives little cum nothing. Alcohol is a mocker!

I see at several supposed “believers” events where alcoholic beverages are being served because they decided to CONFORM to the affairs of this world, they become men pleasers just to belong. We have plenty of other choices of beverage to pick and chose from if we have to entertain friends at socials but definitely not drinks that will intoxicate them.

Beloved, because you claim to have self control doesn't make you not liable. It doesn't take much alcohol to become intoxicated. Let beer be for those who are perishing, wine for those who are in anguish! Proverbs 31:6 (NIV)

I challenge some of us who claim we consume alcoholic beverages for medicinal purposes; ask your doctor and you will see that there are more than enough medical solutions to whatever ails you, definitely not alcoholic beverage. YOU ARE ADDICTED ALREADY!

Let’s close with this; do not drink wine or strong drink, you or your sons, when you go into the Tent of Meeting, lest you die; it shall be a statute forever in all your generations. You shall make a distinction and recognize a difference between the holy and the common or unholy, and between the unclean and the clean Leviticus 10:9-10 AMPC

Remember your New Testament covenant made you a royal priesthood. Your body is therefore the temple of the Lord as you inhabit the SPIRIT of the most high God. STOP ALCOHOLISM

It is better not to eat meat or drink wine or to do anything else that will cause your brother or sister to fall Rom 14:21(NIV)

Let's see this from the almighty on serving it and selling it "Woe to him who gives drink to his neighbors, pouring it from the wineskin till they are drunk, so that he can gaze on their naked bodies! Habakkuk 2:15 (NIV)

In conclusion; WHY YOU MUST abstain from alcoholic beverages?
- Very addictive
- It doesn't take much to become intoxicated
- You have plenty of other choices of beverages
- Sets you as bad examples of a Christian to other people
- Hinders your witness for Christ to others
